Peter offers independent, unbiased, practical advice on a wide variety of marine matters to a range of clients, including Solicitors, P&I Clubs, Vessel Owners and Charterers and Cargo Owners. This ranges from preliminary opinion to producing substantive reports and providing expert evidence at Arbitration Hearings and the High Court, in the U.K. and overseas.
He has an unlimited Master Mariner’s Certificate of Competency; he was the first successful candidate for the Nautical Institute’s Command Diploma. He has a BSc. in Nautical Studies with Commendation, for which he specialised in Maritime Law and Commerce. He is both a Fellow of Nautical Institute (FNI) and a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association.
He is Author of “Watchkeeping Safety and Cargo Management in Port” published by the Nautical Institute, sponsored by the UK P&I Club, and was a major contributor to the Nautical Institute publication Bulk Carrier Practice.
Peter was the Seamanship/Navigation advisor for the families at the Reopened Formal Inquiry into the loss of the “Derbyshire”, the largest British ship ever lost.
Peter was one of the Founding Partners of Cwaves Ltd and was formerly employed by London Offshore Consultants (LOC).
